Music News Forum
This space will be a staple in this course. It'll serve several purposes. Primarily, this forum will provide students with opportunities to read topics relating to music. Weekly, students will read and respond to articles posted by Ms. Parker. Secondly, each week one students will be responsible for uploading an article for the rest of the class to digest and respond to. Lastly, the process of researching, presenting and responding to music news will prepare the students for future tasks that incorporate recording and manipulating sound files.
The overall purpose of sharing news will be to foster a sense of critical thinking and provide opportunities for students to develop a position and communicate their ideas with others. Every students will need "start a topic" as well as respond to two other topics posted by classmates. Responses should be at least five sentences in length. Consider that if your thought cannot be fleshed out into five sentences, it probably isn't worth sharing. Read the entire article and other responses to avoid repeating points that have already been made.
Participation in discussions is mandatory.
